680 Hamilton Ave - Construction begins!
Post date: Sep 17, 2020 9:43:41 PM
As of August 6th, 2020 construction started at the former Acetylene plant at 680 Hamilton Ave SE. When complete, the site will add a gateway to the Beltline via Morley Ave SE, along with 250-275 residential units, 7,000 sq ft of retail, two hidden parking decks, and shorter-than average buildings.
Plans captured earlier this year are attached showing elevations, tree plant-back, topology, building and site layouts.
TPA-Residential has hired a crew to remove the existing piles of calcium-based byproduct from the property's acetylene days over the coming months. As of September 17th, the main pile on the site is approximately half-removed, picture taken from the site is also attached in this post.
The project likely won't be completed until Q4/21 - Q1/22. It's coming on the heels of The Skylark on Boulevard completing and the final stage of The Swift on Avondale entering construction. Along with the sale and proposed development at the former Cold Storage site at 1015 Boulevard NE, bordering our northeast corner, our area is quickly ramping up density in anticipation of the Beltline.
